On a personal note...
My son's first haircut was the weekend he turned one. I ugly cried. My husband cut his hair and I got upset for many reasons, but the reason that I could blame my husband for was that it was too short and he did not discuss it with me beforehand. (Men, you need to ALWAYS run EVERYTHING by your wives before doing ANYTHING. )
I have grown since that first haircut and we've had a few haircuts since then. This past weekend was his first PROFESSIONAL haircut at an old school barber shop in our neighborhood cut by Ray himself from Ray's Barber Shop. This place is awesome. It's got an old school charm to it that you don't really see too often; red, white and blue stripe barber pole, three chairs, and you are immediately treated like family when you walk in. It's ALWAYS packed. I've never walked by an empty shop.
Of course when we decided that 'E' was going to "go pro" with his haircut, I couldn't resist; I HAD to bring my camera. He did relatively ok. Ray tried to distract him with a toy truck and that worked for a bit. But then he was on to us. Mom usually holds him down while Dad cuts his hair. This time, he was a big boy on his own. Stop growing kid!! You're growing up too fast!
